Dr. Javed’s career in addiction research began as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Minnesota, where he focused on pain management research to develop effective, non-addictive opioid analgesics. His research resulted in the development of novel drug candidates that demonstrated exceptionally high efficacy in blocking pain—among the most potent analgesics documented in scientific literature. This NIH National Institute on Drug Abuse funded pain research was highlighted on the cover story of The Scientist Magazine.
